Default Firing order/cap wires

I am new to this forum. I have a 97 850 turbo and I changed the plugs/wires/distributor cap and rotor. The car will not start and I have checked my Haynes manual and the internet attempting to locate a photo of the plug wires attached to the distributor cap. Does anyone have the firing order and a picture showingthe wires going to the cap. I didn't label the wires andI have spend allot of hourswith no luck. Thanks ahead of time for anyreplies

The Haynes manual is dead wrong. They have the firing order correct but you need to move all of the plug wires one position clockwise on the distributor cap.

Here is a link to a picture:

The factory page is backwards on the rotation. Haynes shows number one on the lower left side of the caprather than the upper left.

I did get an email from SAB, after the plug wires were moved it fired up on the first try. I can't believe that Haynes never corrected the error.

Thanks so much for your ultra-fast reply. Much appreciated.

I too, cannot believe that Haynes has not admitted their fault. Well, it may be difficult to admit one's fault in this "Admit-fault-and-get-sued" world.

Thanks again, glad to hear that the 850 is back in service.

One of those two is wrong cause they have 4 and 5 switched on the cap. That's why when I replace mine I do them one at a time so I don't have to know which one goes where. Take the old one off, remove the plug put a new plug wire on to replace the old one. I mark the old distributor cap with white out so I know which one is which there too.
