Default Considering a 2021 Volvo V60 CC Purchase... Looking or advice!

Hi Everyone! Appreciate the help in advance!

My wife and I currently own a 1989 Volvo 240 Wagon which my wife drives as her daily. We love this car, it's been extremely reliable and a joy to drive. We recently found out we will be having our first child this fall and have decided to look into a new and safer car for her to drive on a daily basis ( we are keeping our 240). We are currently looking at a 2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country with 33K miles on it. I was hoping for some insight regarding the ownership of this car. For folks who own this car or engine platform has it been reliable? I have read endless reviews however havent been able to find any long term reviews of ownership. Would appreciate any information you can give regarding the daily ownership of this model year if possible.

Thanks so much!

Consumer reports is probably the best source for reliability ratings. Volvos (not counting electrics/hybrids) generally come in mid pack - along side Audi and a few other notable brands like Mercedes, anything American and better than some like VWs. That said, a 2021 with 33K miles is going to be more reliable than older cars, but the key is to keep up with the maintenance. If you place reliability at a premium then Toyota, Lexus, Genesis some Hondas and BMWs come to the top of the list. Personally I don't overvalue reliability ratings because I do keep up a full maintenance schedule including things like refreshing brake fluid, coolant and transmission fluid on a regular basis. I regularly keep cars for 200K+ miles that way too.
